EPFO website still not opening? Outage extended till 12AM, July 2

If you are thinking of checking your EPF balance or making a claim on the EPF portal, you will have to wait longer as the portal upgrade planned by the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has now extended the downtime till 12 AM, July 2. The initial schedule for the downtime was to end on June 29. It has now been revised to July 2.

As part of the upgrade, the EPFO portal remains shut for the public, and members will not be able to access both the UAN and passbook portals, where claims and balance checks are made, respectively.

Existing claims will be processed

EPFO has clarified that members who already made claims when the website was live do not need to submit fresh claims. All pending claims will be processed once the system becomes operational.

Can we expect a faster EPFO portal after this upgrade?

Alongside IRCTC, the EPFO portal is another government-run website that often faces criticism from users for failing to handle heavy traffic during peak periods each month.

With this system upgrade, users can expect the portal to undergo significant improvements, potentially resulting in faster page loading times and quicker claim processing. However, EPFO has not officially confirmed that these enhancements will be part of the current upgrade.

Members who need assistance regarding their submitted claims can contact the EPFO helpline by dialing 14470.
